Because Australia Needed Another Spider

National Geographic News reports that a new type of trapdoor spider has been identified in western Australia. The new spider, which measures 1.2 inches in width, has been dubbed the albino trapdoor spider until it is officially named as a new species. But it is not a true albino, since only its head is white while the body and legs are brown. The spider was found by a person living in a small town, who captured the spider near his home and sent it to the Western Australian Museum.
